ceilingはシーリングライトのシーリングとして外来語化している単語です。
化粧品の「コンシーラー(シミや肌荒れを「覆い隠す」もの)」は英語だとconcealer(conceal + -er)ですが、語源が共通しています。天井に「覆い隠すもの」というイメージが湧かないかもしれませんが、天井は建物の構造的に「屋根を覆い隠すもの」です。
